The MS in Interactive Media and Communications prepares you to design, produce and manage a wide range of content that effectively connects with a wide range of audiences. You will learn the principles of user-centered design and be well-equipped to leverage design thinking strategies to solve complex technical and business-related challenges. Moreover, you will grow as a creative thinker and visual leader and be able to craft powerful and ethical cross-media communication strategies.

The program explores all aspects of contemporary media, including web design and development, social media analytics; audio, video and graphics, and user experience/user interface (UX/UI) design. As a student, you will be given the opportunity to choose from a variety of electives to customize the degree to meet your career goals. Certain elective sequences may lead to certifications in the areas of social media and user experience design, which may be used to help further highlight your expertise for prospective employers.

Regardless of your chosen path, the project-based capstone will be a critical element to your experience. It will not be a single project, but rather a culmination of your work throughout the program into a single, robust portfolio. The end result will be a valuable, web-based portfolio that you can confidently show employers in a variety of fields including, marketing, public relations, journalism, entertainment and health care.
