OT*700 - Philosophy and Science of Occupational Therapy

(3 cr.) This course presents the philosophical, historical and scientific foundations of the occupational therapy profession and their relevance to contemporary practice. From a philosophical perspective, the course unpacks the epistemology (knowledge), ontology (reality/view) and axiology (actions/methods) of the profession. The evolution of practice throughout history and current and emerging trends in practice is analyzed with respect to meeting societal needs. Every Year, Summer
