Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Occupational Therapy
Stand out as a transformational leader
To address the unique challenges of today's dynamic health care environment, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is challenging practicing occupational therapists to further define themselves as leaders in the industry through its Vision 2025.
To support this vision of creating effective, collaborative, and accessible leaders in occupational therapy, the Quinnipiac University School of Health Sciences created its Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Occupational Therapy (CAGS). This unique program provides clinicians with the opportunity to differentiate themselves as agents of change within the field and allows students the opportunity to concentrate their studies in specialized area of practice.
For practicing occupational therapists seeking to pursue doctoral-level studies, the CAGS program also serves as a bridge for those holding a Bachelor's degree to meet the entry requirements for Quinnipiac's online Occupational Therapy Doctorate program.
The certificate of advanced studies in occupational therapy is a 12-credit program and may be completed entirely online. The foundational coursework emphasizes scholarly writing and ultimately prepares you to submit an evidence-based manuscript for publication. As part of their coursework, students will also have the opportunity to choose from two specialized tracks: school based practice or teaching and learning in occupational therapy.
Both the graduate and undergraduate programs at Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences have earned a reputation for excellence in education. Top practitioners and scholars help students thrive – both in the classroom and online. The lessons and mentoring opportunities afforded by this program can give students a definitive edge as they pursue their careers in a growing health care industry.
School of Health Sciences graduates are recruited by top organizations that seek their advanced knowledge of health care research and associated skills.
